Tours & Trails

Formed in 1996, owned by Tessa Redman and Trevor Earl, and assisted by Lara Kriel, Tours & Trails is based in Cape Town. From here, they operate customised excursions to the Northern Cape, Western Cape and the Garden Route regions.

Tours & Trails provide the means to discover the country's incredible wonders at the visitor's own pace. The principal focus is natural and human history, concentrating on unique fauna and flora and on the cultural and historical aspects of the many peoples of the region.

They travel in small groups for flexibility of itinerary and to minimise the impact on often fragile environments. All excursions are led by experienced and highly knowledgeable SA Tourism-registered guides.

They are well known for Special Interest Excursions which include Birding, Botany, Culture, Archaeology and Wine appreciation, all led by specialists. Walking programs in the Cape Peninsula, the Winelands, Overberg and the Cederberg are also offered, with extensions to the famous Drakensberg. Walks, hikes and cycling can be incorporated into many of our popular excursions, also with unique specialist experiences like an encounter with the baboons, a shark safari, or sea kayaking and swimming with the African penguins.
